Understanding the stock comparison
What shortages, overages, matches, and “no match” mean when you compare a count.

Shortages
These are the units Shopify says you have but that didn't show up in the count. They're usually theft, breakage, unrecorded sales, or misplaced merchandise. They appear in red and negative (for example −34).
- 02
Overages
These are units you counted more of than Shopify shows. It happens when merchandise came in but was never entered into the system, or when a sale was voided. They appear in amber and positive (+11).
- 03
Matches
The SKUs where the counted amount and the system are exactly equal. It's the basis of your “stock accuracy”: the more that match, the more reliable your inventory is.
- 04
No match
Codes you counted that don't exist in Shopify (no product has that barcode). Check that the variant's Barcode field is filled in on Shopify.

Save the result
When you close the comparison, save it. That way the dashboard shows you “N unresolved shortages” and weekly accuracy without having to query Shopify again.
